The feminine universe pleases me very much
Anne Fontaine
The Anne Fontaine enterprise is really a love story,
“ I discovered an old trunk in the attic that held the white shirts that my husband’s family had manufactured for male fashion brands. I had a moment of inspiration and decided to create my own brand with white shirts only! ”
Queen of the white shirt,
It made so much sense for me because, in Brazil, white is the color of happiness.
I created a new vision for the feminine shirt, and I wanted the white shirt to become an essential piece of every woman’s wardrobe. It goes with everything.
White has a lot of symbolic meaning in Brazil, where it is the color of happiness and is said to bring good luck. Anne's feminine and elegant shirts are undoubtedly an ode to today's modern woman, they're elegance makes them timeless.
I find one is always very well dressed wearing a white shirt. It is also a question of culture.
Continue to make work for artisans,
“ I produce in France, in Europe. Artisans for me are a passion. I create a collection done by artisans, both French and Italian. Unfortunately today a lot of people are manufacturing abroad. Artisans are disappearing… after generations of existence. Instead, people are turning to new technology businesses. I fight this a lot. That is why I create to continue to make work for artisans.”
Promote sustainability and raise awareness.
” Anne Fontaine would like the entire fashion industry to be more concerned about sustainable development. “I have a few lines made of organic cotton and recycled fabric, but that’s just a part of my production. Suppliers have to offer us more choices; they need to evolve. The industry has a long way to go before we can talk about sustainable fashion. It’s a process, and it takes time to implement.”
